The parts you will use every day
Most of what Jackpoll does falls into six areas, each with a page of its own below. The builder is where forms are made; question types decide what you can ask; quiz mode turns a form into something scored; the live quiz turns a scored form into a game for a room; word clouds collect a crowd's words onto one screen; and results show what came back, as it comes back.
They are not separate products bolted together. A question written once can be asked in a form, graded in a quiz, played in a live game and read in the results without being rewritten, because underneath it is all one survey.
And the parts you will be glad exist
Around that core sits the work that a serious survey needs sooner or later. Responses can be exported to CSV and Excel or rendered as a PDF per submission. Webhooks POST each response to your own endpoint, signed with HMAC. Email notifications arrive in real time or as a daily digest, and surveys can close themselves on a schedule.
Sharing is equally unfussy: a link, a QR code, or an embed inside your own site. Access codes gate who can respond, survey content can be translated for different audiences, and conversational mode changes the whole feel of a form to one question per screen.

Privacy is a feature, not a plan tier
Consent banners, privacy notices and lawful-basis controls are built in rather than bolted on, and retention rules delete or anonymise responses automatically after a period you set. Data-subject requests are handled properly: a full export in a machine-readable form, and erasure across every table when an account is deleted.
If that still is not close enough to home, the whole thing is open source and runs on your own infrastructure. Nothing about the hosted version is a reduced edition of the self-hosted one.

Every question type, quiz mode, live sessions, exports, webhooks and the GDPR tooling are available on every survey — the hosted version and the one you run yourself are the same build.

- Which features are free?
- All of them. There are no plans and no paywall: unlimited surveys, unlimited responses, every question type, quiz mode, live quizzes and exports.
- Is there a limit on responses?
- No. Jackpoll does not cap responses, and self-hosting removes any question of shared capacity entirely.
- Can I use Jackpoll without creating an account?
- Respondents never need an account. Creating and managing surveys does require one, or you can run your own instance.
